No, I haven't forgotten.

It's been a while since I've posted anything here even though I've been up to my elbows in art. Seems that bouncing around between different projects isn't condusive to finishing one. So it goes....

This is an experiment for an upcoming project that will need to be finished rather quickly. Any thoughts?

  1. the top of his head is missing....i can see that that is a figure, but i want it more completed as a figure.
    helpful? maybe. offensive? maybe.
glad to see you back, either way.

  2. I see what you're saying. At first I liked the idea of some of the figure getting lost in the background color, but then I still outlined the other arm but not the rest of the head. You're right, kinda lost balance a little I think. Thanks for the thoughts! It really helps to get opionions from people outside of the family..LOL

  3. I like the fact that part of the image is submerged almost. Theres a tension in the contrast between the blue - suggestive of water and the red and leaves. Whats the project? Or is it too early to say?

  4. It's for one of the Art House projects. The sketchbook one to be exact. I won't have much time to fill the entire sketchbook by the deadline, so while I'm waiting for it to be sent to me, I was playing around with some ideas. It has a theme which is "A Million Little..." That leaves a lot options open, but I think I'm going to base mine on a trip to an historic cemetary that a friend and I made a while back. We took photos of the sculptures there and I have been wanting to do some things with them. Well...I was kinda thinking about "A Million Little Tears". Seems appropriate I think, or maybe just weird?

  5. Oh, and I wanted to experiment with a different medium too. I used guache, which I've never used before. It's almost like a cross between watercolor and poster paint and acrylic. I used it more like watercolor here. I did this test in one of my other sketchbooks so I'd know if it'll work for the one they send me. Didn't want to completely screw it up ;)
